Heads or Tails: Nendo for Dogs

Furthering the trend for more sophisticated pet products, Japanese design studio Nendo has created a series of transformable dog accessories intended for multifunctional use.

The Heads or Tails collection comprises a dog bed, dishes and toys; their folded and faceted structures are flexible and transform for dual use. Constructed of triangular panels, the dog bed can pop up into a hut, or be pushed down for use as a cushion, while the silicone toy bone – made from a skeleton of triangles – can be reshaped into a ball. For more examples of flexibility in faceted structures, see our recent Flex, Facet & Fold report.

Nendo joins the growing number of designers and architects turning their creativity to canine objects as pet ownership continues to rise in the US and the UK. These owners are seeking to accommodate their animals without compromising their own personal style.
