Lanvin for Laduree

Parisian tea salon and purveyor of pastel macaroons Laduree has teamed up with French fashion designer Alber Elbaz of Lanvin to create a limited-edition macaroon set. The union of these two icons of opulent, Parisian style has resulted in a specially illustrated box tied with a red grosgrain ribbon, filled with bubblegum-flavoured macaroons.

Elbaz isn’t the first high-profile fashion designer to collaborate with the French patisserie; Christian Lacroix, Christian Louboutin, John Galliano and Marni are just a few who have previously worked with Laduree on special projects.

Fashion collaborations make sense for the candy-coloured macaroons, which are the luxurious treat of choice for the fashion industry and a constant favourite on social image-sharing sites such as Tumblr, Pinterest and Instagram. See Stylus' recent Fashion Eats report for more examples of fashion's current interest in food.

The limited-edition boxes will go on sale in France on September 25 2012, coinciding with Paris Fashion Week, and on September 28 2012 in the UK, US and Japan.
