Ebay’s Augmented Reality App

Ebay has realised the potential of augmented reality applications for its retail model. These apps are becoming increasingly popular, for example the Museum of London app, which when directed towards a London landmark superimposes a historical image of the same place and provides information about it.

Ebay Classifieds is now using an augmented reality mobile browser called Junaio available on the iPhone and Android devices. This app allows users to point their phones in front of them and Ebay ads posted in the area are superimposed on the view. Results can also be filtered to find specific goods for sale.
