Dentsu London’s Tea & Wishes

Japanese advertising agency Dentsu’s London outpost has launched its latest campaign for Tetley Tea, debuting in France this week. Basing the video advert around making a wish every time you pull the drawstrings of your tea bag, the campaign draws on the sentimental act of ritual.

The agency’s latest work comes on the heels of its summer launch of the augmented reality Suwappu Characters – a toy and media concept giving eight adorable characters the ability to talk in animated speech bubbles when viewed through the likes of smartphones and iPads.

Dentsu London now has an iPhone app to interact with the toys through facial recognition, and is currently in talks to take the technology public in 2012. For more on how these little guys work, check out the Culture report AR Entertainment: Dentsu London’s Suwappu Characters.
