Levi’s Cyclist-Friendly Collection

American denim brand Levi’s has launched a range with practical detailing to benefit the urban cyclist. Called the Commuter series, the range consists of the Trucker jacket and 511 Skinny jeans that feature functional details such as iPod pockets and reflective accents aimed towards the safe and stylish cyclist.

The entire collection features integral fabric technologies such as odour protection, 3M Scotchlite™ reflectivity and Nanosphere Technology, designed in conjunction with Swiss textile brand Schoelle Technologies (see Stylus' Performance Fabric report). This textile application gives materials increased durability, as well as resistance to both dirt and water.

Other details include strengthened stitching, a raised back yolk, increased stretch and belt loops large enough to fit a U-Lock through. The jeans come in two styles, cropped and regular, and all garments have been designed to fuse practicality with Levi’s streetwear aesthetic.

The collection will be stocked at Levi’s stores and Urban Outfitters later this summer, as well as independent bike shops. Prices start at $68 (£42) for the 511 Skinny cropped Commuter Pants.
