In-Restaurant Food Lockers

Apex Supply Chain Technologies hot food locker

Global business technology supplier Apex Supply Chain Technologies has created temperature-controlled lockers that will serve as in-restaurant collection points for participating eateries – enabling customers to pick up food orders on-demand. They also eliminate the need to queue or wait for food to be assembled.

To use the system, customers need to place their orders, pay and select a pick-up time via a dedicated smartphone app. Once the orders are ready, the restaurant operator places them inside the lockers, which can be unlocked by customers using their smartphones.

Fast-moving consumers are increasingly prioritising products and services that reduce the number of steps in the purchasing process. Therefore, dining establishments and services that offer quality edibles within accelerated timeframes are becoming more popular. In a similar vein, vending machines that offer healthier snack choices are resonating with health-conscious consumers on the go, as discussed in Intelligent Vending and Future Food Vending.
