Re-skill Offenders

Extra

Masisa, Latin America’s leading company dedicated to the production and commercialisation of MDF, is working in conjunction with design studio Mercer.Quinteros to re-skill offenders.

The project sees the creation of carpenter’s workshops within some of Buenos Aires’ prisons where inmates can learn skills to reintegrate themselves with society.

Small furniture mass-produced in the workshops is sold in key stores across Argentina – with the offenders receiving a salary for their work to support their families.
