Social Media Week

The biannual Social Media Week is taking over 12 international cities this week, including Paris, Tokyo, São Paulo and San Francisco. More than 1,000 events – ranging from mixers and demos to panel discussions and workshops – will showcase the latest in social media trends and techniques
Highlights include the talks This Game Will Make You Healthier, hosted in New York by advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness; and Social Media: Teenage of the Species, held in London. Meanwhile, teams of interpreters are busy translating the most interesting Tweets from the global events into Portuguese for Brazilian Social Media Week attendees.
Social Media Week’s global keynotes feature Macon Phillips, director of new media at The Whitehouse in the US; search engine giant Google Brazil’s CEO, Fabio Coelho; and Paul Adams, global brand experience manager at social network Facebook.
Social Media Week runs until February 17 2012, and the discussion continues on the Twitter hashtag #SMW12. Check out Stylus’ coverage of Social Media Week September 2011.
