Biodegradable Footwear by Figtree Factory

Spanish active lifestyle brand Figtree Factory Studios has designed an eco-friendly shoe. The OneMoment line – unisex footwear ideal for watersports and walking – can biodegrade by at least 80% within six months when placed in the earth.

Inspired by the native people of the Amazon rainforest – who paint the soles of their feet with natural latex for protection – the plant-based, plastic slippers uniquely resemble spray-on shoes, providing an ergonomic, skin-tight feel. Utilising a bio-polymer injection process, the shoes are just 2mm thick (at least 3mm thinner than traditional shoes).

At an affordable cost of £4.50 ($7), wearers can guiltlessly dispose of their shoes, knowing they will soon return to the environment.
