Influencers Quell Quarantine Anxiety

Content creators outlined in our Instagangs: Influencers Tackle Burnout report are introducing participatory routes to joy and wellness for their quarantined followers.
Plant mentor Nick Cutsumpas of @FarmerNick hosted a virtual Houseplants 101 class on March 25 in collaboration with Brooklyn educational creative agency We Are Supernatural’s Virtual SuperSchool series. In a bid to get followers growing food at home, Cutsumpas shared his Corona Co-Operative Garden Workout, integrating exercise with gardening actions and equipment to create Planter Box Jumps and Watering Can Swings.
Shortly after posting a helpful and humorous PSA on proper hygiene during the coronavirus outbreak, Toronto’s Donté Colley introduced the #DonteColleyChallenge. The initiative invites followers to recreate a morale-boosting message, choreographed by the dancing influencer. Colley then overlaid each submission with his signature emojis and messages like “we need each other more than ever” – direct messaging the final product back to each user and posting a supercut of his favorites on his account.
