Smartphone Masters Support

The first distance-learning masters course in Latin America to be fully run via smartphone has been launched at the University of Salvador in Rosario, Argentina.

Once enrolled, students will be provided with Blackberry 8520s, complete with unlimited internet access and 300 minutes worth of calls, free of charge. The smartphones will be used for tutorials, content support and consultation sessions.

The programme – a two-year specialisation in distance learning for graduated teachers – aims to show how new technologies are changing teaching parctices, especially when it comes to distance learning.
