Cerealize is a US subscription website that allows consumers to create their own custom-blended cereal, and get it shipped direct to their home.

The fledgling business plan won first prize at this year’s Startup Bus – an initiative that encourages web developers and entrepreneurs to design viable web apps while travelling by bus to the South by Southwest Interactive technology conference in Austin, Texas.

Customers can choose a base cereal such as puffed quinoa, honey-roasted oats or cornflakes. Then come the extras, which range from the traditional nuts and fruit to cayenne pepper, bacon or chocolate-covered espresso beans for the more adventurous consumer.

The Startup Bus website states: “Cerealize leverages the power of just-in-time production, direct-to-consumer sales, and a uniquely social business model.”
