Harrods’ New Shoe Salon

Hot on the heels of London department store Selfridges’ Shoe Lounge, fellow department store Harrods is set to open its own rival Shoe Salon – an equally extravagant space dedicated to luxury footwear.

Designed by interior architects Shed, the glamorous, art deco-inspired space will feature coloured marbles in "shades of sorbet", brass fixtures and bespoke furniture covered in vibrant prints by designer George Smith.

Harrods and Shed hope the opulent design of the Shoe Salon will offer a considerably more seductive retail experience for customers while they browse through a legion of luxury brands including Christian Louboutin, Brian Atwood, Charlotte Olympia and Giuseppe Zanotti.

The Shoe Salon opens on February 22 2011.
