Siren Elise Wilhelmsen: Season Carpet

Norwegian designer Siren Elise Wilhelmsen has designed a heat-sensitive woollen rug that changes colour according to the temperature of its surroundings.

Working as a ‘soft thermometer’, the circular Season Carpet is braided into a geometric pattern using three colours of thermochromic thread – a material that contains temperature-sensitive compounds that change colour.

The rug is available in two colourways. One changes from blue to mint green at 15°C and from red to yellow at 28°C, while the other turns from purple to pink at 15°C and from red/brown to yellow at 28°C, giving the rugs four different looks.
