Online lifestyle publisher Glam Media has just launched a social network entirely devoted to the fast-growing crowd of gastronomy enthusiasts. Foodie.com is an expansion for the business that propels the US company into the realm of food-related media.

Still in its beta phase, Foodie.com allows users to create profiles with their existing Facebook or Twitter credentials. Once signed up, users can follow chefs and food writers to glean information, find new recipes and share their own edible forays. Glam has also enlisted the services of 100 food writers and bloggers, as well as an advisory board of culinary experts, to produce content for the service.
