Peer-to-Peer Wash Cycles

La Machine du Voisin is a new web initiative from France that connects the owners of washing machines with those who need one.

The website is free to join – washing machine owners add a description of their machine, its capacity, location, and the fee for its use. Those on the hunt for a machine simply enter their city and the website lists the machines available within a 500 metre radius of their location, and also includes user reviews. Payments are made directly between renter and owner.

More than 1,000 machines are already listed on La Machine du Voisin serving numerous regions throughout France. Look out for Vision’s upcoming profile on Shareable.net – an online magazine that tells the story of the fast-emerging sharing economy.
