Hotels Encourage Fitness

Guests staying at a Westin hotel in the new year will be offered complimentary sportswear and services to encourage them to stay fit.

The global hotel brand, which is part of the Starwood Hotels group, has partnered with fitness brand New Balance to provide sportswear, in-room exercise programmes and maps for local running routes.

Guests participating in sporting events such as marathons will be treated to ‘good luck’ wake up calls and performance goodie bags – aimed at promoting the healthy and active lifestyle.

This venture follows the collaboration between the Sheraton Hotel group and fitness brand Core Performance, announced in October. Sheraton Fitness offers themed workouts, nutritional advice and an online resource for guests.

Some 60 hotels already feature the new fitness offering, with an additional 70 on board globally before the end of 2010. All Sheraton hotels around the world will offer Sheraton Fitness by end of 2011.
