ASOS Facebook Store
Although retailers have been using Facebook for some time now as a key marketing tool, fast-fashion e-tailer ASOS claims to be the first in Europe to launch a fully transactional store application on the social networking site.
ASOS reports that it currently receives millions of visitors to its Facebook page, who click through to the ASOS.com store to buy. With the new app’s launch at the end of January cutting out a click, it is hoping for even higher traffic (and sales).
The new store will stock the full ASOS range, with around 1,300 new products added each week. The ASOS Facebook app will have the same capabilities as ASOS.com, such as add to basket, check out and order-tracking services. However, it will also allow consumers to ‘like’ and share products with friends, engaging the interactive qualities of social media.
