Hotel Lone Opens Concept Store

Hotel Lone in Croatia has launched a concept store offering locally produced products, called Prostor. Based in Rovinj, the hotel is the first Croatian site for hospitality marketing consultancy Design Hotels, which provides services to more than 200 independently owned hotels in over 40 countries.

Hoping to encourage contemporary Croatian design, Prostor is a platform for local artists and designers to gain exposure. The collection will comprise of clothes, accessories, jewellery, and contemporary art and design items.

This local approach is a sign of a recent shift in the hotel industry – away from identikit brands, towards the incorporation of locality into the design and ethos of a hotel. Panellists at the Boutique Hotel Summit, held in London in May, suggested that consumers are now actively looking for hotels that incorporate this micro approach.
