Tokyo Fashion: Uniqlo x Undercover

Japanese high-street giant Uniqlo launches its hotly anticipated final collaboration with high-end Tokyo label Undercover this week with an online look book and ad campaign, photographed by Tim Walker and styled by Jacob K.

Jun Takahashi of Undercover brings his label’s signature use of technical fabrics and hidden details through into the new collection, designed “for the families of today”, comprising women’s, men’s and kidswear. Varying textures are emphasised in tonal pieces with straight-edged panelling used on parka coats and autumnal knitwear in a palette of plum, chartreuse, navy, violet, moss and black.

Embodying a ‘built to last’ approach to high-street fashion, the UU collaboration follows on from the successful J+ partnership between Uniqlo and German designer Jil Sander, which spanned three years. The UU collection goes on sale worldwide this week.
