Virgin Holidays has announced plans to open the world's first beachside airport lounge in May 2018. Departure Beach, located on Brownes Beach, Barbados, will allow Virgin travellers to check in and drop off luggage, then relax in the sunshine while waiting for their flights.
The access fee of £20 ($26) per adult and £15 ($19.55) for children will include transport from the hotel to the airport.
In the private lounge guests will be able to eat and drink in the complimentary beach bar and restaurant, have access to sun loungers, towels and showers, free Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs. It is also to include gaming areas for children in an air-conditioned space.
Access to the lounge will be free for Virgin Cruise passengers and those staying at the Savannah Beach hotel.
