Textile Field at V&A

Danish textile company Kvadrat is collaborating with design duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to create a textile lounge installation at the Victoria and Albert Museum for London Design Festival 2011.

Textile Field is a coloured foam and textile structure measuring 30-metres by eight metres, with gentle inclinations for visitors to recline on.

The installation will be located in the V&A’s Raphael Gallery, where visitors will be invited to sit, stand or lie while considering the gallery surroundings – it houses Raphael’s 1516 cartoons for a set of Vatican tapestries.

The installation will be in situ during London Design Festival, from September 15 to 25, 2011.
