Cate Blanchett for SK-II Clear for Life

Australian actress Cate Blanchett – global ambassador for Japanese beauty brand SK-II – has launched a campaign to bring 30 million litres of clean water to underprivileged Asian communities this year, titled Clear for Life.

Blanchett and SK-II have created a short video about the project, available to watch on the company’s website. For every click it receives, SK-II will donate one litre of water. Blanchett has already donated three million litres herself.

“Growing up in Australia, I’ve always lived in drought areas, so dealing with a lack of water has been a concern of mine for a long time,” she says. “Also, SK-II is a Japanese brand, and with all that’s going on in Japan right now, it’s encouraging to lend support since it’s so easy to feel despondent and hopeless in the face of a natural disaster.”
