Menu at Maison & Objet 2014

A Stylus highlight from last September’s Maison & Objet, Danish brand Menu impressed again at the January show this year, with a host of versatile design ideas for modern living – the result of several new collaborations.

With a focus on minimal and contemporary shapes, Menu’s furniture, lighting and accessories reference both the Lightness and Tilt + Lean trends prevalent across the show. Neutral, muted colourways of soft greys, sage green and dusky pink can be adapted to all areas of the home or office, while interesting uses of materials saw concrete decorative accessories and product details in leather and copper.

Particular highlights include a leaning side table (featured in Turn & Tilt); an adaptable shelving system that suits the small-space living and nomadic lifestyles depicted in Design Democracy: Shift; and an update on the conventional pinboard – felt-covered blocks featuring various attachments for informal storage.
