Sasha Pivovarova for Gap

Russian model Sasha Pivovarova has collaborated with American high-street retailer Gap to create a lingerie collection featuring her own illustrations.

The Christmas collection for the GapBody range launched yesterday (1 December 2011) and includes underwear sets and sleepwear featuring Pivovarova’s illustrations, inspired by fairytales. Her artwork has a cult following and she is currently working with designer Karl Lagerfeld to illustrate a book on Russian fairy tales. The pictures for the GapBody collection interpret the idea of a dream-like state between being awake and asleep, and have a romantic, girlish aesthetic.

Pivovarova’s photographer husband Igor Vishnyakov shot the model wearing the collection while the pair were on holiday in Bali for the collection campaign. The Sasha Pivovarova collection for GapBody is on sale now at Gap stores in the UK, US, Canada, Italy and France, with prices ranging from $20.35 (£12.95) to $78.52 (£49.95).
