Selfridges Makes Mini Shoes

London department store Selfridges has created a miniature shoe collection for a sartorial, in-store advent calendar.
The miniature collection of shoes – each of which measures about 10 cm from toe to heel – are scaled-down models of shoes by designers including Rupert Sanderson, Terry de Havilland, Tods, Maison Martin Margiela and Penelope Chilvers. Styles on offer range from heels and stilettos to flip-flops by Havaianas and mini boots by Dr. Martens.
The collection is housed in a custom-built wooden cabinet, designed by south London design studio Hendzel & Hunt. Standing at 5 ft, each of the 24 doors and drawers open with a bespoke key, padlock, riddle or cryptic clue. The cabinet is available for purchase as a whole collection from the Selfridges London store for £18,000. The miniature theme continues outside of the cabinet, with a collection of miniature Charlotte Olympia shoes retailing at £295 each, Fendi mini baguette bags for £690 and Louboutin Barbie shoes selling for £60.
The miniature shoe advent calendar cabinet and other miniature exclusives are currently available to buy at the London Selfridges store and online.
