LFW A/W 13-14: Moschino Cheap & Chic

In contrast to the predominantly monochrome and grey tones that emerged from New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week has so far championed bright colour for Autumn/Winter 2013-14, with Moschino Cheap & Chic focusing on bubblegum pink.

The Italian fashion house drew on the iconic British punk movement for a flirty, rebellious collection that its designer Francesca Rubino aptly named ‘pink punk’. Leopard print, graffiti-scribble text and black-lipped models created a bold sense of attitude, while frilled hemlines and shimmering embellishment ensured there was an edge of princess to Moschino’s breed of punk.

The aforementioned bubblegum pink was the statement colour of the collection, ranging from saccharine candy floss to bright fuschia, and accented with studded leather and platform shoes for a less sugary take on the hue.

See Stylus’ Remix Concept for more examples of contemporary, punk-inspired style.

London Fashion Week concludes tomorrow (February 19).
