Retail Displays Take Top Honours

As brands become increasingly competitive about gaining exposure within the retail environment, a UK competition has recognised international excellence in point-of-purchase displays.

The POPAI Awards 2012 have named a display designed for Unilever Asia – for the retail relaunch of the Pond’s skincare brand – as Display of the Year in the permanent displays category. Versions of the display have been installed in thousands of stores across Asia. 

In the temporary display category, a counter-top unit for UK toiletries and cosmetics retailer Molton Brown took the Gold award. The display allowed customers to navigate the display by scent, to help them choose their ideal fragrance.

In a first at the POPAI Awards, which have been running for six years, both top awards were designed by the same agency: Circlesquare, a retail design group with offices in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Miami.
