Fashion Artist Ana Rajcevic

Stylus recently discovered the work of London-based fashion artist Ana Rajcevic while at the international fabric show Première Vision Autumn/Winter 2013-14 in Paris.
Combining sculpture with fashion design, Rajcevic creates imaginative pieces of headwear, wearable art and standalone designs. She specialises in the use of metal, leather and synthetic polymers. An MA architecture graduate, Rajcevic studied at the University of the Arts London and was recently awarded the London College of Fashion Best Design Award 2012 for her collection of headpieces, called Animal. She has exhibited her pieces globally at events such as Belgrade Design Week in 2011 and the Dis-Patch Festival in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2010.
Interested in both human and animal forms, Rajcevic’s pieces fuse artistic expression with technical skill. Armour-inspired clothing – created using metal, leather, rubber and PVC – was the basis for the 2009 Unhuman collection. The Virgin and Blind Nude collections ignite conversations on feminism, and highlight Rajcevic’s interest in the female body and the perception of women in society.
Rajcevic also co-produced a fashion film, Encounters, which was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2011 and Berlin Fashion Week in 2010.
