Alex McLeod’s Vibrant Digital Landscapes

Canadian digital artist Alex McLeod has collaborated with computing company InteraXon to produce a series of interactive animations that can be controlled by a user’s facial expressions.

Elements such as the presence of clouds, flocks of birds and smoke rising from chimneys, as well as the colours of the imagery, are all affected by minute muscle movements that reflect the user’s emotions.

McLeod and InteraXon’s technologies provide basic tools for developing mood responsive environments, where colour could be dependent on the emotions conveyed through the user’s face.
