LDF: Secret Sensory Suppers

A pop-up dining event at this year’s London Design Festival looks set to be a multi-sensorial and thought-provoking experience.
Curated by London-based trend consultancy FranklinTill, the Secret Sensory Suppers is a series of three experimental dining events, each exploring the relationship between food, sight, sound and scent.
Gastronomic jelly mongers Bompas & Parr will start the series with A Visionary Feast for the Senses, where guests will watch Alejandro Jodorowsky’s cult film Holy Mountain and gorge on a 1970s-inspired banquet. Blogger Caroline Hobkinson hosts the second dinner, inviting guests to eat blindfolded and without the use of conventional culinary tools. The final meal – MaSonis Supper – is created by design and music partnership Silent Studios, and explores the combination of sound and food.
The event will be held in the dynamic Masonic Temple in East London’s Andaz Hotel, and runs from September 20-22 2011.
