Finnish Glass Museum: Glass Etc

The Finnish Glass Museum in Helsinki is paying tribute to the country’s renowned glass designers with its summer exhibition, Glass etc. – From Carafe to Cardboard. The exhibition runs until September 23 2012.

Featuring the work of 30 designers – including late Finnish designers Kaj Franck, Timo Sarpaneva, Nanny Still and Tapio Wirkkala – the exhibition showcases serial production. The works on display, which were mainly produced between 1990 and 2012, are not only in glass, but also in cardboard, plastic and textiles.

The Finnish Glass Museum has been participating in a range of events to celebrate the design culture of Helsinki, which was named World Design Capital 2012.
