Malle W. Trousseau for ‘Serious Cooks’

The Malle W. Trousseau is a curated collection of high-end kitchen equipment, designed to provide “only the best for serious cooks”. The selection of 43 kitchen essentials includes handmade utensils by craftsmen alongside carefully chosen items from small manufacturers and leading brands in the culinary industry.

French couple Isabelle Mathez and Frederic Winkler founded the brand after creating a similar collection for their daughter when she moved out of the family home and left their beautifully stocked kitchen behind.

Elegantly presented in specially designed cardboard packaging, the Malle W. Trousseau is divided into three trays that can be bought individually. The ‘cutting’ tray holds a selection of knives and a red leather apron. The ‘cooking’ tray includes a cast iron casserole dish and knitted potholders, while the ‘preparing’ tray includes a selection of melamine bowls and linen tea towels.

The trousseau retails for £2,599, or £893 if buying a singular tray. A selection of items is also sold separately with the option of creating your own trousseau. The Malle W. Trousseau was on show last week at Paris design fair Maison et Objet and is available to buy online and from the Parisian concept store Merci. Look out for more Stylus coverage of Maison et Objet, coming soon.
