Xavier Lucchesi: X-Ray Portraits

Extra

French x-ray artist Xavier Lucchesi produces colourful x-ray images by layering scans and adding colour to what would usually be monochromatic medical images.

Using digital image manipulation techniques, Lucchesi alters the hues of the individual layers of each of his subjects, eventually collating them as a multi-hued piece. The final portraits represent how digital medical equipment views the body, looking beneath the surface that the human eye can see.
