Lapka: iPhone Environmental Sensors

Lapka is a set of iPhone devices that allows users to become more aware of unseen environmental hazards or safety issues. The four portable sensors measure nitrogen particles, electromagnetic frequencies (EMF), radiation and humidity to identify whether levels are normal or abnormal.

Lapka also detects nitrate levels in organic food. Nitrates are used in non-organic pesticides and fertilisers, and their presence in foods that claim to be organic can be viewed as evidence to the contrary. A dedicated app visualises the data gathered to help users better understand the findings and how they may affect them.

Lapka is scheduled to become available to the public towards the end of the year and will retail for approximately $220.
