Check It Out

Bloomingdales, the New York department store, is offering Christmas shoppers the chance to walk out with a designer item - a limited-edition bag personalised by designers such as Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Michael Kors, Tory Burch and Elie Tahati.

The Check it Out  campaign will use a series  of special shopping bags to promote "designer spotlights" and be used only on specific days,  when the relevant designer's products are pulled out of their regular sections and displayed in prominent sites around the store.

Considering the rising popularity of even the most mundane branded items, such as Marc Jacobs Sharpie pens, the bags look likely not only to liven up Bloomingdales' traditional holiday design but maybe to become collectors' items in their own right.
