The Travelling Pop-Up

New York native and creative polymath Agathe Borne – whose previous ventures include novel writing and filmmaking – has turned her attention to retail with a travelling fashion boutique called Le Pop.
Borne wanted to counteract the image of the pop-up store as primarily a brand promotional tool by selling a selection of handpicked items that are exclusive to Le Pop. For example, Borne has worked closely with American fashion designer Tracy Feith and Paris-based label Yazbukey to develop clothing and accessories suited to the Le Pop ethos.
In true nomadic style, the store travels to a new location every couple of weeks, changing its merchandise slightly to fit its new home. Some of the rare products sold in the New York shop this June included vintage red Chanel bags and Yves Saint Laurent costume jewellery.
Currently limited to a summer-long experiment, Le Pop travels to Nice in France before ending its bold run in Ibiza, Spain in August.
