Hotels Introduce Car Charging Stations

Hotels across the UK are set to install charging stations for electric cars on their premises in the hope of encouraging motorists to use their hotel facilities while their cars are charging.

Ten hotels and tourist resorts including John O’Groats Guesthouse, The Nottingham Belfry, Land’s End Hotel and Heathrow/Windsor Marriot, have partnered with US car manufacturer Tesla to install the stations. They will be privately owned but available for public use, either free of charge or for a small fee.

Charging the car battery can take anything up to three hours, so even if visitors do not book in for an overnight stay, they will have the opportunity to use facilities such as restaurants, bars and spas.
