Under 500 Calories

Japanese health-monitoring device manufacturer Tanita has opened a restaurant that offers dietary and nutritional advice to its health-conscious customers.

The Tanita Shokudo restaurant comes in response to the enormous success of the brand’s healthy cookbook. Each dish served at the restaurant is less than 500 calories, and the meal comes with the added bonus of a free consultation from an on-site professional dietician. Each table comes with scales and a timer, allowing customers to weigh their own rice portions and check that they take no longer than the recommended 20 minutes to eat their meal.
