Billboard Cut-Outs Borrow Colour from Old Ads

French guerrilla artist Thomas Louis Jacques Schmitt’s latest installations adapt existing billboard advertisements by cutting through them to reveal the colours of previous adverts.

Manipulating the layering of adverts by revealing those that are hidden underneath the latest image, Schmitt’s technique results in surreal, colourful  compositions that happen purely by chance.
