NYFW S/S 13: Python Skins Pop in NYC

NY womenswear label Proenza Schouler proved to be one of New York Fashion Week’s highlights thanks to its clever use of python panels in outerwear and snakeskin-inspired mesh textures in structural dresses.

Having just opened its first boutique last week on New York’s Madison Avenue, designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough showcased a collection that drew inspiration from German artist Gerhard Richter’s touring retrospective exhibition, Panorama.

Leather proved to be the key material, seen in high-definition colours such as neon green, electric blue and blood red. The collection has already begun to echo on the streets of NYC, with styles featuring bold combinations of brightly coloured skins.

New York Fashion Week ended on September 13 2012. London Fashion Week kicked off today and runs until September 18 2012. Check back for further coverage of the event.
