The Anonymous Survival Guide

Adding to its wayward kudos, the online hacking group known only as Anonymous has published a guide to survival amidst a violent revolution.

Drawing on the energy of the global Occupy protests, the Anonymous Survival Guide for Citizens in a Revolution is a PDF available online which, according to the stealthy team, “will be constantly changed, reused, improved etc. so DO NOT SWTICH OFF YOUR BRAIN”.

Never too far behind a political, social or economical brouhaha, Anonymous encourages the public to ask questions, stand up for their rights and even overthrow their governments. Chapters such as ‘Noticing first signs,’ ‘Food & water’ and ‘How to deal with violent riots’ offer up Boy Scout-level advice on coping with the worst possible scenario.

Stylus commented on a wider social feeling of uncertainty for the coming year in Dark Matters and Morbid Matters: Culture of Death. This initiative bolsters this dark mood, but also speaks of a need for preparation and survival.
