Dark Matters

The impact of scientific and digital invention on visual culture has enabled us to capture the temporary and intangible – like shadows and darkness. These are elements that occupy a ‘twilight zone’ gap between physicality and perception. Stylus explores the current pre-occupation with these ‘dark’ matters in a prevailing culture of fear, with reference to how they inspire colour and surface design.
