Cath Kidston at St Pancras

Affirming the growing status of transport spaces as prime retail locations and the rise of ‘everywhere retailing’, luxury homewares and accessories brand Cath Kidston has opened a store on the main concourse at St Pancras International train station, London.

While airports have been popular with luxury brands, which have been targeting the jet-set community for some time, other travel ports have traditionally lacked the same glamour. However, high-speed, international rail links attract a more upmarket consumer, subsequently attracting upscale brands, which are well aware of the lucrative, semi-captive audience.

The usual Kidston proposition has been subtly adapted to accommodate the new audience by including products with a travel slant, such as wash bags and gifts, ranging from 50p to £100. All, of course, come in Cath Kidston’s signature kitsch styling.
