British airline Virgin Atlantic will partner UK-based Peruvian restaurant Ceviche to launch its first pop-up restaurant at London’s Heathrow airport this summer.

Running from August 12-18, the venue will be available to customers with Upper Class tickets who are travelling through the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. The restaurant will be open for lunch, offering a number of Ceviche’s signature Peruvian dishes such as the Don Ceviche marinated sea bass, and Ensalada de Quinoa – a Quinoa salad with chilli, onion and lime.

Brands such as Virgin are noting a growing opportunity in airport cuisine, which is mirroring gourmet developments on the high street as part of a growing consumer interest in all things edible (as explored in The Global Food Love In).

Heathrow Airport recently launched its first ever food guide, created in conjunction with BBC TV series Masterchef’s judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode. Food on the Fly provides a comprehensive overview of the airport’s dining options, and 10,000 copies were handed out to passengers in July.
