Newgen Men: Winners S/S 14

The latest recipients of the Newgen sponsorship scheme have been announced by the British Fashion Council for Spring/Summer 2014. Up-and-coming labels Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen and Nasir Mazhar are new additions to the roster of menswear designers supported by the initiative.

Newgen – the supportive initiative for emerging talent sponsored by UK high-street store Topshop – provides catwalk and presentation platforms for young brands as well as mentoring and guidance to nurture the young businesses. Newgen Men launched in 2009 and has since helped British designers such as Christopher Shannon, James Long and J.W. Anderson establish themselves.

The scheme works in partnership with UK retailer Topman, emerging designer platform Fashion East’s Man and biannual fashion showcase London Collections: Men, which has taken British menswear talent to a far wider audience since its inception in 2012.

In addition to the aforementioned designers, S/S 14 sees Lee Roach, Matthew Miller and Shaun Samson all receive Newgen catwalk sponsorship, while Martine Rose will be given presentation sponsorship for the season.

London Collections: Men S/S 14 runs from June 16-18 2013.
