iTree by KMKG

The iTree by Austrian architecture and design studio KMKG is an iPhone and iPod docking station made out of a simple, hollowed tree trunk.

Using specialized tools, the trunk is hollowed out proportionally to produce optimum sound quality through the speakers. Each iTree is unique – each customer is able to choose the type of wood, the length and the built-in technology.

The iTree is then made by hand in the Steirische Vulkanland region of southern Austria by carpenters Tischlerei Lenz, keeping the iTree local. There are currently three types of iTree – cherry, poplar and spruce – however, almost any kind of wood can be used. The iTree is compatible with any iPhone, iPod docking station or CD player.
