Last week, luxury UK department store Harvey Nichols opened a vast 83,000sqft Asian flagship in Hong Kong’s Pacific Place mall, boosting the city’s reputation as a top international shopping destination – especially for visitors from mainland China.

Replicating the formula applied to its existing stores, the new flagship encompasses high-end fashion, restaurants, bars, cafés, a wine shop and a food market.

Another key player in the British fashion scene, the luxury label Burberry, is also planning to open a flagship in the city in 2012.
