Core Jewels, Tokyo

Located in Tokyo, bijou jewellery boutique Core Jewels – which comes in at a tiny 75 sq m – cites a celebration of the process of jewellery making itself as the inspiration for its exquisitely minimal store design.

The store’s fixtures – including sleek showcases that resemble gleaming white operating tables – were designed by Fumita Design Office, and directly inspired by the forms created by carving and grinding precious metals and stones. The focal point of the store is a large polyhedron display unit, which had to be constructed on-site.

The all-white interiors, which make the space appear roomier than its limited dimensions, have been combined with marble slabs, cleverly positioned LED lighting and coloured glass to create an atmosphere oozing with futuristic luxury.
