William Eggleston: Chromes

American photographer William Eggleston has released Chromes – a three-part series of books that shows his early experimentations with colour photography when black-and-white imagery was still the protocol for art photography.
Taken from 1969-74, the images depict scenes in Memphis, Tennessee that were created using Kodachrome and Ektachrome coloured film – the style of which is mimicked today by the popular Instagram smartphone app. The book is published by Steidl.
